So, Furries & Bears 2 sequel is out

So, the sequel is out. 

I'm also under the influence of lack of sleep and COVID shot 2. So this is gonna be an experience for all of us.

This was quite a different and odd dev cycle, as I had access to the title o the first game, yet the characters were/are owned by the ex-client that originally contracted me for the first game. So it was a pickle. I was in a pickle. Does Steg even make a sequel? Would it be worth it? Ultimately, the deciding vote was that enough people seemed to like the first game that it warranted experimenting with a second. 

So the small company that we are did just that. We made a sequel.

We wanted to both keep the wholesome and "nobody is an asshole" spirit of the first game while flexing our muscles and making the second game more of our own. It was a challenge, but I think I speak for the entire team when I say that I think we made something pretty cool that people will enjoy. It both expands the first game's storyline and world, as well as tries for a blend of story-driven and player-driven choice menus. We started with inspiration from Comedy of Errors, Two Gentlemen of Verona, and The Tempest, but ultimately, only The Tempest really survived to the final draft as thematic foundation. 

Will we make a third? Make it a trilogy? Depends entirely on sales, and how we all feel a month out. It was painful not being able to add this to our "Shakespeare Canon" of games (we're trying to do all 37 Shakespeare plays as games), as this still is some other game universe that we have played around in. If we add this one in, we need to add Furries 1 in, and that can't happen as, again, the first game wasn't completely ours to begin with.
